Low-Bridge Fit Glasses

Why glasses slip or touch your cheeks, and what low-bridge fit frames change.

Woman wearing glasses

If your glasses often slide down your nose, rest on your cheeks or sit too close to your lashes, you may benefit from a low-bridge fit. These frames are designed for nose bridges that sit lower or flatter relative to the pupils.

Signs you may need a low-bridge fit

  • Frames slide down even after adjustment.
  • Lenses touch your cheeks when you smile.
  • Your eyelashes brush the lenses.
  • Frames sit noticeably lower than your eyebrows.

What changes in a low-bridge frame

  • Taller, thicker nose pads raise the frame.
  • Adjusted lens tilt keeps lenses clear of the cheeks.
  • A slightly narrower bridge reduces sliding.

Metal frames with adjustable nose pads can also be tuned by an optician for a similar effect.
